I went to Germany in 2009 to a delightful outdoor cafe in Rothenburg. I ordered what I remember was called Rum Steak. It was served in a big bowl with the most tender meat(beef) in a white gravy/cream sauce with vegetables. It was the scrumptious!!
I couldn't not wait to make it here in the states for my German boyfriend, but no one knows what that is nor can I find a recipe. HELP!!!
I am almost certain its "Rahm" which is cream and I ate the same thing in 2005 in Rottenburg an der Tauber

Sounds like it might be some form of goulash. Hungarian goulash, perhaps.

Any chance that it was "Rumpsteak"? In that case it just a Reference to the cut of meat used ( also rump steak in English) & quite a regular item on german restaurant menues.
